M. Steel in the Community
M. Steel actively participate in community activites that make a difference.
WATBike
The WATBike project was started in March 2010. M. Steel Cycles are proud to support WATBike by providing cycles and servicing as well as sponsorship for the trailer that transports people and the bikes around.
Blyth Active Travel Town (BATT) Project
M. Steel Cycles are proud to support the Blyth Active Travel Town (BATT) project, which is delivered by Sustrans.
The BATT project works with schools and businesses in Blyth to encourage people to travel in ways that benefit their health and the environment. More specifically, this is done through a broad series of cycling events, repair days and a large bike loan programme. Over the last year M. Steel Cycles have provided the scheme with 20 cycles as well as regular servicing- to keep them in tip top condition.
To fully encourage the project our own Dave Buchan does the servicing and offers the scheme his expert advice on: bike fitting, bike care and maintenance. Additionally, we give our support to evening cycle rides, charity events and any projects that we can be of assistance to Sustrans staff.

Note: Sustrans is a national run charity that actively encourages the opening and use of safe cycle orientated paths and routes the full extent of their work can be viewed on www.sustrans.org.uk
